So yesterday was crappy. All I wanted was some dang croutons from the grocery store. Harmless right?
Well an innocent trip to the grocery store ended in a huge headache. Now I'm facing the annoying task of car shopping.
Thanks to some blind idiot who decided it was cool to just gun his massive truck and turn in front of me, my car is now resting peacefully in car heaven.
The entire front end of my car was smashed into oblivion, the front windshield ended up a mass of glass on the front dash and the passenger side window was blown completely out. Both airbags deployed, thank goodness.
It's a freaking miracle I didn't end up with a chunk of glass stuck in my face or something. I had a bit of coughing from the airbag dust/smoke, tiny shards of glass all along my arms and a bruised up hand, wrist and forearm.
The EMT's checked me out and I declined a ride to the hospital in the ambulence. After all the paperwork was filled out and Corey had helped Andy clear out my car, Andy took me to the doctor.
The doctor did an xray on my hand. At first he thought I had a small hairline fracture in my hand but he couldn't see anything on the xray. Today my hand and arm feels significantly better but it's still pretty sore. I have red rash marks from the airbag that burn slightly but other than that, I'm ok.
It definately could have been a whole lot worse that's for sure.
Anyway, I had the right of way, the accident was his fault, he got a citation, but now I get all the headache of an aching wrist, insurance crap to deal with, and having to find a new mode of transportation.
Let's just say I'm miffed, stressed, super annoyed and completely consumed with anxiety right about now.
I liked my car. She wasn't anything special to look at but she was reliable and got good gas mileage. She wasn't worth much either though, so I'm going to have to fight to get enough out of the insurance company to get me a replacement car.
This is just something I don't want to deal with right now. I don't have time for this and I don't have the patience for it either!! Grrr.
I have to call the insurance company today and I just plain don't want to. I hate this!
