Today I'm having lunch with a friend.
We were friends in junior high, way back when
and reconnected through Facebook

I'm really looking forward to this
Sometimes I let myself get caught up in life
and forget to let myself have fun

I can go weeks on end only thinking
about school and work
and never laughing or smiling
or relishing the day

I've found that a lunch date with a girlfriend
is the best way to bring me back
down to earth
and remind me that it's not always
just about school and work.

Good food, drinks and great conversation.
